Brush Fires Burn Thousands Of Acres Across Central Florida

Brush fires continue to burn thousands of acres in Central Florida.

Two fires are burning near the Wekiva River, one in Lake County and another in Seminole County, while flames are also scorching land in Brevard County and nearly 7,000 acres have been charred in Flagler County.

A brush fire in Flagler County has burned more than 7,000 acres, and firefighters said they are still trying to calm the blaze.

Although it's only 45 percent contained, authorities said they are winning the firefight.

During the eight days the fire has burned, 45 homes have been directly threatened by fire, officials said.
